Construction holding SABA GROUP plans to reconcile the historical center with innovations.
Initially, the project, the land for which the developer bought at the end of 2019, provided for two nine-story houses on Tulebayev Street, as the company focused on the neighboring nine-story building. The project also included a green area and recreation areas. Some residents of the nine-storey building opposed the number of floors of new buildings. Their proposal was taken into account in the SABA Group, and now they plan to build only one five-story house.
"We see how it is possible to transform the block, build a house with modern infrastructure and comfortable landscaping on the site of the landfill. The social burden that we take on ourselves makes the central district of Almaty more comfortable, despite the fact that taxpayers 'money will not be spent on this," said Yerzhan Abdikadirov, President of SABA GROUP.
The project of a residential building on Tulebaeva includes 40 apartments and a large parking lot, which will solve the problem of residents of neighboring houses. 100 trees will be planted around the house, and modern recreation areas, a football field, exercise equipment and playgrounds, an amphitheater and a recreation area with a fountain will be located on the yard territory free from development.
"We took into account the opinion of not only the residents themselves, but also the architects, for example, we consulted with Nurlan Kamitov. Taking into account the wishes of all the experts, we decided to preserve the architectural style of the Brezhnev-Kunaev period. As far as possible," the head of the company said.
The change in the project was positively received by the residents of the neighboring houses, who had lived near the vacant lot for about 40 years.
"I, a native of the city of Almaty, grew up in this area and raised children, I have already raised grandchildren. The abandoned plot irritated the residents of the nearest houses. Our houses are built in the 50s and 60s, they do not represent any historical value. The houses require major repairs, the yard area requires landscaping. When they say historical appearance, I do not understand what we can show to tourists? Terrible-looking houses, poorly equipped yard, underground mines, abandoned construction site? We need a quiet and cozy courtyard, in which it will be comfortable to live, " said a resident of the house No. 112 on pr. Nazarbayev Gennady Gusynin.
